Yoga Village
The whole village came out to gift Annie (owner of Y.V.) this healing Medicine Wall!
In times of transition, a Medicine Wall may be just the right move to bring order.

Medicine Walls/art

I present my journey below, two-fold:
One– the story, which attempts to explain why I, or maybe we feel some of the things we may feel. Usually from some past programming. And Two– I describe what some energetic or visual aids might be prescribed to remedy the “unquestioned story”, (Byron Katie) if you will. -(shown as you scroll towards the bottom of the page).
Journey….
===========================================================================
My mother was Mormon and wasn’t exactly opposed to having a kid or two (seven, to be exact). Though I was the sixth, my top four brothers and sisters were all out of the house before I was old enough to remember them having lived at home.:-/ This gave me the distinct feeling of growing up as the “middle child”. Which in a way I was, since it was just my older brother, little sister and me. So some of the middle child stigmas likely apply. I.e. Perceived invisibility∗. Or that I wasn’t necessarily given a lot of responsibility∗∗, nor was I allowed to act too young either!∗∗∗ “I’ve got the middle child blues…yeah, the middle child blues. If you were me in that place, you would have the middle child blues too!” (Sorry…..sometimes I just break out in song).hmm
Moving along….. My step dad was a brick layer and animal trapper- “pelter” (if that really IS a word!) We moved constantly. Sometimes to follow the coyotes! (sadly, I’m not kidding here!) Uprooting the family every two years or so in the process. This culture of instability left me feeling unsafe and insecure! ∗∗∗∗
–I do have many treasured memories from my youth. I don’t go into these here though. For the sake of this conscious construct Medicine Wall, we say “the good things in our lives take care of themselves. But as for those sad or broken places….well they could use some acknowledgment, some attention and maybe just a “skosh” of love:-)” Enter…. Medicine Walls
===================================================================
∗ Potential Medicine wall remedy for invisibility….”employ any power elements, i.e. a wall stencil denoting the third chakra. A power animal, or even an empowering phrase! And or add “grounding” stones to the clay that I might feel myself move out of my head and into my body, rendering me anything but invisible!
∗∗Not being given responsibility, I never felt terribly capable. I certainly did not feel like the master of my universe! ___a great Medicine Wall element might be as simple as to hang a captains hat (that I’ve actually worn) on the power wall to remind me of my being in charge of my own journey! Hinting at my absolute capable self!– Or…… how about writing on the wall in a border,”what one man does, another can do”?!
∗∗∗Not having been allowed to be childish as I would have liked to have been, How bout adding some part of a favorite toy from back in the day! Take a Rubik’s cube apart and glue some of it on the wall so it gets embedded in the clay at its troweling. Or scrabble letters spelling a word. Or any playful element….hey maybe just a picture of this dog (below)?haha
∗∗∗∗Feeling insecure and unsafe. One of my favorite meditations (because I felt so safe during it) was sinking to the bottom of the ocean ( a T.M. meditation) in a submersible with an air hose._____ So personally I might include a sketch of a submarine or maybe just ‘stencil’ the mathematical equation for helium…(what we breathe so deep beneath the ocean). That stencil would be a beautiful visual marker for deep inner peace.
The above descriptions are merely a few examples of some ideas that might go into a Medicine Wall. There are many things we didn’t even touch on that would be at our disposal, but I hope you get the general idea. Let’s talk about what your very own custom medicine wall might look like today! I enjoy talking about this “medicine”, so please contact me any time, for–as the kids say–Reelz!
